SYSTEM HELP
Start with the symptoms—not a guess.
Choose what the system is doing. We’ll show you a few safe checks and make it easy to send the right details to Empire Air.
SAFE FIRST STEPS
The house is not cooling
- Confirm the thermostat is set to COOL and below room temperature.
- Check whether the indoor blower and outdoor unit are running.
- Check the filter. If it is heavily restricted, replace it with the correct size.
- If you see ice, turn cooling off and set the fan to ON. Do not chip the ice.
These checks do not replace a professional diagnosis. Do not open equipment, touch wiring, or handle refrigerant or gas components.
QUICK ANSWERS
Before the service visit.
Should I keep running a frozen air conditioner?
No. Turn cooling off and set the thermostat fan to ON if the blower is operating. Continuing to cool can worsen icing or damage.
What information helps with a service call?
Your address, thermostat setting, indoor temperature, when the problem started, equipment age if known, and clear photos or video from a safe distance.
Can Empire Air diagnose the system over text?
Photos and details help prepare for the visit, but many HVAC problems require measurements and hands-on testing at the home.
Do I need to know what service to select?
No. Choose the closest symptom or book a diagnostic visit. Empire Air will sort out the cause on site.
